Shine, Pumpkin, Shine!

Bang bang bang went the door

Woo woo woo went the wind

Creak creak creak went the floor

Rattle rattle rattle went the broomstick in the corner

The pumpkin said nothing

Bang bang went the door

Woo woo went the wind

Creak creak went the wooden floor

Rattle rattle went the broomstick in the corner

The pumpkin sat still. He said nothing.

Bang went the door

Woo-oo-ooh went the wind

Creak went the floorboards

Rattle went the broomstick in the corner.

The pumpkin smiled. He smiled and smiled. It was Halloween and it was his turn to SHINE.

  1. This is adorable, Libby! I love the repetition, lulling us into thinking that the pumpkin is just going to keep saying nothing (funny :)) and ending with him having his turn to shine! What a lovely idea! Love all the onomatopoeia too – nicely done! Thanks so much for joining in the Halloweensie fun!

  2. Sorry I didn’t get back sooner, Libby. There are a couple of ways. At the top of your post in your dashboard, there is a Shortlink that you can copy and paste as the link. Or, you can just browse to your blog and click on your Shine Pumpkin Shine title and copy it from your URL bar. I copied it for you. And if you let Susanna know, she will change it for you.
